Bicyclist Hit by City Garbage Truck

A city garbage truck hit a bicycle, sending the bicyclist to the hospital for emergency surgery for a head injury. Police reported that the garbage truck was turning left when it hit the bicyclist. The bicyclist was thrown from his bicycle and hit his head. In addition to the life-threatening head injury, the cyclist sustained severe body trauma.

The garbage truck operator was not injured in the accident.
