Nissan Quest Recall: Accident Risk Due to Possible Front Suspension Defect
Nissan is recalling 1,438 MY 2007 Quest vehicles. During production, a select number of vehicles underwent an offline inspection at the assembly plant where a bolt in the front suspension assembly was removed. On some of these vehicles, it is possible that this bolt may not have been tightened to specification when it was reinstalled. If the bolt is loose, the driver will hear a rattling noise and notice vibration. If the bolt comes off completely, the driver can experience difficulty in controlling the direction of the vehicle which could result in a crash. Dealers will replace the attachment bolts and tighten them to the specified value. This recall is expected to begin during July 2007.

Nissan Altima Recall: Fire Risk Due to Flammability of Air Filter
Nissan is recalling 140,582 MY 2007 Altima vehicles. If a sufficiently hot object enters the air filter housing through the engine fresh air intake system and contacts the engine air filter, the flammability characteristics of the air filter material are such that the filter may ignite. If the air filter material ignites, a fire may occur. Dealers will replace the air filter with a new one that has improved anti-flammability material characteristics. The recall is expected to begin on or about July 3, 2007, and will continue through October 1, 2007. This recall was the subject of a Preliminary Evaluation, PE07-026, conducted by the Office of Defects Investigation.

Nissan Versa Hatchback Recall: Air Bag Defect
Nissan is recalling 16,309 MY 2007 Versa hatchback model vehicles. The terminals for the passenger side seat belt tension sensor harness connector may have been damaged during the manufacturing process. This could result in a loss of electrical continuity causing the occupant detection system to become inoperative. If this occurs, the air bag warning light will come on and the passenger side frontal air bag will be suppressed. Dealers will replace the connector for the seat belt tension sensor harness free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or about April 16, 2007.

Nissan Infinity Recall: Defective Headlamps
Nissan is recalling 23,934 MY 2006-2007 Infiniti G35 vehicles for failing to comply with the ‘vertical gradient’ and ‘headlamp photometric values’ requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, 'Lamps, Reflective Devices, And Associated Equipment.' This standard is to reduce crashes, injuries and deaths by providing adequate illumination of the roadway, and by enhancing the conspicuity of motor vehicles on the public roads so that their presence is perceived and their signals understood, both in daylight and in darkness or other conditions of reduced visibility. Dealers will replace the headlamp assemblies.

Nissan is recalling 1,863 MY 2004-2006 Infiniti Q45
Vehicles for failing to comply with the stop lamp and reflex reflector requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, 'Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." This standard is to reduce crashes, injuries and deaths by providing adequate illumination of the roadway, and by enhancing the conspicuity of motor vehicles on the public roads so that their presence is perceived and their signals understood, both in daylight and in darkness or other conditions of reduced visibility. Dealers will replace the rear combination lamp assemblies free of charge.
