Rochester, MN Head-On Collision Injures Four People
Christina Sheldon, Kenneth Sheldon, and two children, all from Rochester, MN were injured when Levi Madison, who was driving westbound on highway 14 in Olmsted County, swerved into the eastbound lane and hit the Ford Focus driven by Ms. Sheldon.  Christina Sheldon, is in critical condition.  Levi Madison died. Ruling Broadens Interpretation of the Exception to the "Seat Belt Gag Rule"

The Minnesota Supreme Court has broadened the interpretation of the exception to the "seat belt gag rule" to include incidents that involve a parent’s “negligent installation and maintenance” of their child’s car seat.  In the case before the court, a child sued his parents after the child was injured in a car accident in which his mother was driving.  His father had negligently secured him in the car seat.  Because the exception to the "seat belt gag rule" applied, the child was able to obtain compensation for the resulting injuries from his parents' auto insurance company.  Read more about a child car seat lawsuit.

  • A FORD LTG REAR ENDED A HONDA ACCORD ON HIGHWAY 14 IN NICOLLET COUNTY. THE DRIVERS AND TWO PASSENGERS SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES.
  • A CAB-LESS JOHN DEERE FARM TRACTOR WAS EAST BOUND ON CO 27 WHEN IT WAS REAR-ENDED BY A FORD PICKUP. THE IMPACT EJECTED THE DRIVER OF THE TRACTOR ONTO ROADWAY WHERE HE WAS STRUCK BY A NISSAN PICKUP. ASSISTING WERE: SLEEPY EYE AMBULANCE AND ALLINA AMBULANCE.
