JBS Swift Beef Recall
At least 18 cases of E. coli have been associated with eating JBS Swift Beef Company beef products. Prompted by this E. coli outbreak, JBS Swift recalled about 380,000 pounds of ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Read about a possible JBS Swift Beef Company lawsuit.
Nestle Lawsuit
An E. coli outbreak that has sickened over 70 people in 30 states may have been caused by E. coli-contaminated Nestle Toll House cookie dough, according to the FDA, CDC and state health officials. Read about a Toll House lawsuit and a Toll House recall.
Alfalfa Sprouts Salmonella
The CDC and FDA are advising consumers not to eat raw alfalfa sprouts because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Saintpaul. State and local authorities, CDC, and FDA have linked a multistate outbreak to eating alfalfa sprouts.
Salmonella in Pistachios
Several illnesses have been reported by pistachio consumers that may be related to pistachios distributed by Setton Pitschacio of Terra Bella, California, which has prompted a recall. FDA is conducting tests to look for matches between the strains of Salmonella found in the company's pistachios and strains of the bacteria found in ill people.
Salmonella Linked to Union International Food Co. Spices
A Salmonella outbreak linked to a spice company has sickened 42 people, including 33 in California. Eight of the 42 have been hospitalized. The spice company, Union International Food Co., has recalled its white and black pepper, paprika, onion power, curry powder, mustard powder, wasabi powder, garlic and chopped onion. Salmonella Wrongful Death Lawsuit: Pritzker Law Firm Represents Family
72-year-old Shirley Mae Almer of Minnesota was the first reported death in the Salmonella outbreak linked to King Nut peanut butter (see below). On behalf of her heirs, attorney Fred Pritzker has started the process of a lawsuit against King Nut Companies and Peanut Corporation of America.

King Nut Peanut Butter Recall
Minnesota and federal officials have genetically linked King Nut Peanut Butter to the multi-state Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak, which has sickened almost 500 people in over 40 states. Several people have become seriously ill. Five deaths may be associated with the outbreak. Jalapeno Pepper Recall Associated with Salmonella Saint Paul Outbreak
The FDA has announced that one jalapeno pepper sample is a positive genetic match with the Salmonella Saintpaul strain causing the current Salmonella outbreak that has over 1200 confirmed cases in 43 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. Prompted by this finding, Agricola Zaragoza, Inc. of McAllen, Texas recalled jalapeno peppers distributed since June 30th, 2008.
Salmonella - Lucky Green Thai Basil Recall
LUCKY GREEN TRADING, INC. of Garden Grove, CA has recalled Thai Basil , because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
Zeigler Hot Dog Recall
R. L. Zeigler Co., Inc., a Selma, Ala., firm, is recalling approximately 28,610 pounds of hot dog products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Vermont Ground Beef (Hamburger) Recall
Vermont Livestock, Slaughter and Processing Co., LLC, a Ferrisburg, Vermont firm, has recalled approximately 2,758 pounds of ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Vermont health officials have confirmed 10 cases of E. coli associated with consumption of the recalled ground beef (hamburger).
NY Fish Smoked Salmon Recall
NY FISH INC. of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling I ♥ NY FISH brand IMPERIAL-EUROPEAN STYLE SMOKED SALMON, vacuum packed, in 3 oz., 8 oz., 16 oz., and whole sides (“to be weighed at time of sale”) sizes with lot numbers 513 1340, 514 1340, 515 1340, and 516 1340, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria.
American Sub Recall
Landshire, Inc. has recalled its American Sub sandwich sue to possible Listeria contamination. The recalled American Sub sandwiches were distributed in the Midwestern States of: Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The recalled American Sub sandwiches were sold to Circle K Convenience Stores exclusively.
Cub Foods Recall and Possible Lawsuit
Cub Foods is recalling Wild Harvest brand Beef Choice ribeye steaks, sirloin steaks and strip steaks, all beef products that were part of the August 8 and 14 Nebraska Beef recall.
Expanded Nebraska Beef, Ltd. Recall
Nebraska Beef, Ltd. has expanded its August 8, 2008 recall because FSIS has concluded that the production practices employed by Nebraska Beef, Ltd., on June 24 were insufficient to effectively control E. coli O157:H7. According to the FSIS, the products subject to the expansion may have been produced under insanitary conditions.
Stop and Shop Tuna Salad Recall
Home Made Brand Foods, located in Newburyport, MA, voluntarily recalled approximately 5,000 pounds of “Ready-to-Eat Tuna Salad” after routine sampling found the product had the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
May's Pork Recall
Palama Holdings, LLC, a Kapolei, Hawaii, establishment, is recalling approximately 4,535 pounds of fully cooked pork products because they may be contaminated with Listeria.
Renna's Meat Market Recall
Renna's Meat Market, a Fresno, Calif., firm is recalling approximately 780 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.
Nebraska Beef and Coleman Recall
State and federal health officials have linked 31 confirmed cases of E. coli O157:H7 to Nebraska Beef, Ltd. products sold under the Coleman brand. People in 12 states were sickened: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The recalled Coleman products were sold by grocery stores, including but not limited to Whole Foods Market.
Roche Brothers and Sudbury Farms Roller Sandwich Recall
several types of ready-to-eat “roller sandwiches” manufactured by a Wilmington Massachusetts Company, DBC, Inc. (doing business as World Class Canapés, Inc.) has recalled several types of "roller sandwiches" because they may be contaminated with Listeria. These sandwiches were sold by eighteen Roche Brothers and Sudbury Farms stores in eastern Massachusetts and may have been offered in the prepared food section or used on party platters. None of this product was sold outside of Massachusetts.
Kroger Salmon Recall
Vita Food Products, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois has notified the public that twelve individual packages of Vita Nova Salmon, were sold at Kroger stores in Houston, Texas on or after July 22 of this year may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. In addition, 192 individual packages of this same product have either possibly been sold or are being offered for sale at various grocery stores in the Avenol, New Jersey metropolitan area.

E. coli - Georgia E. coli, Barbecue Pit Lawsuit and Nebraska Beef, Ltd. Lawsuit.
An E. coli outbreak in Georgia has been linked to the Barbecue Pit in Moultrie, Georgia. This outbreak may also be connected to a recall of 5 million pounds of Nebraska Beef, Ltd. ground beef components. Read about the Nebraska Beef recall.

E. coli - Michigan and Ohio Outbreak Linked to Kroger Ground Beef and Nebraska Beef, Ltd. Ground Beef Components
There are now 43 confirmed cases in an E. coli outbreak in Michigan (Michigan E. coli) and Ohio (Ohio E. coli) linked to Kroger ground beef and Nebraska ground beef components. Listeria - Salmolux Smoked Salmon Nova Lox Recall
Salmolux Inc. of Federal Way, WA, has recalled lot # 01418 of its Wild Alaskan Smoked Salmon Nova Lox sold in 3 ounce packages due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
New Jersey Beef Recall

Amish Macaroni Salad Recall
Orval Kent Foods, an Illinois firm, has recalled about 23,000 pounds of Amish Macaroni Salad after the Ohio Department of Agriculture found E. coli in a single package. Read about the Amish Macaroni Salad recall.
Public Health Alert fo Tyson Ground Beef
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for approximately 808 pounds of Tyson Fresh Meats ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Read about the Tyson ground beef public health alert.
Cecina Los Amigos Pork Blood Sausage Recall

JSM Meat Holdings Company Beef Recall

Sweetwater Valley Cheese Recall

Gourmet Boutique Recall - Chicken Salad and Wraps
Gourmet Boutique, L.L.C., a Jamaica, New York firm, has recalled approximately 286,320 pounds of fresh and frozen meat and poultry products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Read more about the Gourmet Boutique recall.
Pennsylvania Raw Milk Recall
The Pennsylvania Agriculture Department has warned consumers that raw milk from Piney Ridge dairy farm in New Bethlehem, Clarion County, and Clark and Elaine Duncan's farm in Meadville, Crawford County, purchased anytime after March 10 may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat Recall
Malt-O-Meal has announced a Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat recall due to possible Salmonella contamination. The Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat recall involves unsweetened Puffed Rice and unsweetened Puffed Wheat Cereals produced with “Best If Used By” codes between April 8, 2008 (coded as “APR0808”) and March 18, 2009 (coded as “MAR1809”). 21 people in 13 states have laboratory-confirmed cases of Salmonella linked to the recall. Salmonella: Agropecuaria Montelibano Cantaloupe
March 22, 2008 - The FDA has issued an import alert regarding entry of cantaloupe from Agropecuaria Montelibano, a Honduran grower and packer, because, based on current information, fruit from this company appears to be associated with a Salmonella Litchfield outbreak in the United States and Canada. Hawaii E. coli Outbreak
Seven cases of E. coli O157:H7 have been associated with Sekiya’s Restaurant and Delicatessen located at 2746 Kaimuki Avenue in Honolulu. California and Washington Sprout Recall
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has warned consumers not to eat certain Salad Cosmo alfalfa sprouts because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. Salad Cosmo USA Corp., a California firm, voluntarily recalled the alfalfa sprouts after routine testing detected Salmonella. Read about the California and Washington sprout recall.
Trader Joes Alfalfa Sprout Recall
J.H. Caldwell and Sons Inc. of Maywood, Calif., has recalled Always Fresh and Alfa One alfalfa sprouts due to possible contamination with Salmonella. The recalled sprouts were distributed to wholesale distributors and retail grocery stores in California, including Beach Market, KV Mart and Superior Warehouse, and to Trader Joes grocery stores in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Bean Salad Recall
FDA has announced a bean salad recall due to possible contamination with Clostridium botulinum, the bacterium that causes botulism. The manufacturer, Walker's Food Products Company of North Kansas City, Missouri, recalled its 16oz. packages of Four Bean Salad packaged under the Kay’s Gourmet brand name and 5-lb. and 10-lb. containers of Four Bean Salad packaged under the Walker’s Food Products Co. brand name. Salmonella Outbreak and Tuna Recall
Cases of Salmonella in Hawaii have prompted Choyce Products of Honolulu, Hawaii to recall 5,452 pounds of frozen Yellowfin Tuna. The FDA and the state of Hawaii are conducting a joint investigation of a variety of vendors due to the state receiving Salmonella illness reports between October 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007. J & B Meats Bratwurst Recall
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is warning consumers not to eat smoked pork and beef bratwurst make by J&B Meats of Barnesville, Minnesota, with the lot number PBB30306, and Minnesota State Establishment Number 1198. Ca Rem #1 Coconut-Flavored Dessert Recall
Rem #1 has recalled its Ca Rem #1 Ice Cream, SeaTac, is voluntarily recalling its coconut-flavored frozen dessert. The non-dairy dessert may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall of the frozen dessert was initiated after routine sampling and analysis by the Washington State Department of Agriculture revealed the presence of Listeria. E. coli Wrongful Death Settlement
As one of the leading food safety law firms in the United States, Pritzker | Olsen, P.A. was contacted by a number of victims of the 2006 E. coli O157:H7 outbreak linked to spinach, including the family of the outbreak’s first fatality, a Wisconsin woman in her seventies. The woman was survived by three adult children and two grandchildren. Rochester Meat Recall - California and Wisconsin E. coli Outbreak
Rochester Meat Company has recalled about 188,000 pounds of ground beef due to possible contamination with E. coli O157:H7. At least 6 people have contracted E. coli O157:H7 infections associated with eating Rochester Meat Company ground beef served in restaurants and food service institutions in Wisconsin and California. Mark's Quality Meat Recall and Lawsuit Information
On January 5, 2008, the USDA-FSIS announced a recall of about 13,150 pounds of beef products (steak and ground beef products) that may be contamintated with E. coli O157:H7. The beef products were voluntarily recalled by Mark’s Quality Meats, Inc., a Detroit, Michigan company after being distributed to Detroit restaurants. Whittier Farms Milk and Possible Listeria Contamination
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) has issued a warning regarding milk products from Whittier Farms in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts due to possible Listeria contamination. Two elderly men have died and two other people have been sickened in a Listeria outbreak that has been associated with Whittier Farms milk.
