Recall of State Fair Cheeseburgers and Jimmy Dean Cheeseburgers
In the April 19, 2006, edition of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Enforcement Report, the FDA re-announced a December 2005 recall of State Fair Cheeseburgers and Jimmy Dean Cheeseburgers. The recall was initiated because the cheese burgers were assembled with sliced American processed cheese that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The manufacturers of the cheeseburgers are Sara Lee Foods, Florence, Alabama, and Peacock Engineering, Itasca, Illinois.
The recall involves 1560 cases of cheeseburgers described as follows:
Frozen Cheeseburgers - beef patties with American cheese on a bun, a closed meat sandwich. The cheeseburgers were packaged under the following labels: a) Jimmy Dean Mini 24 Cheeseburgers Beef Patties with Real American Cheese on a Bun; 12 Twin Packs, Net Wt. 38.4 oz, Keep Frozen, Microwaveable; 10 retail packages per case; Dist.
