Recall of Bicycle Helmets Sold by Target
August 31, 2005--In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Target, of Minneapolis, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 494,000 Back Trails Jr. Toddler, Youth and Child Bicycle Helmets. Some of these helmets do not meet CPSC safety standards for bicycle helmets, which poses a risk of riders suffering head injuries in a bicycle accident.
Recall of Jen-Air® Natural Gas Outdoor Gas Grills
August 24, 2005--In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Nexgrill Industries Inc., of City of Industry, Calif., is voluntarily recalling 644 Jenn-Air® Model 720-0100 Natural Gas Outdoor Gas Grills. A hose connecting the natural gas source to the grill’s main manifold may not have been supplied with these grills. Without this hose, the gas would be emitted into the air, creating a potential fire hazard. Consumers should not use the grill until the main burner hose is provided. The recalled Jen-Air® gas grills were sold at Lowes Stores nationwide from April 2004 through May 2004.
Recall of Kawasaki All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)
August 2, 2005--In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A., of Irvine, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 155,000 Kawasaki Model Year 2001-2005 Prairie and Brute Force All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). A significant impact to the front wheel of the ATV while the steering is fully turned to either side can result in suspension damage, wear, and an eventual loss of steering control that could result in injury or death. Kawasaki has received 42 reports of ball joint separation, resulting in three injuries from ATV accidents.
