Salmonella Claim for Victim Compensation
Your Salmonella claim will be based on the following theories of recovery:
- Strict liability - Food sold to consumers is not supposed to cause harm under any circumstances.
- Negligence - Sellers of food at every level are supposed to use reasonable care to ensure that the food is not contaminated with Salmonella.
- Breach of warranty - Sellers of food warrant that it is fit to eat. Food contaminated with Salmonella is not fit to eat.
Companies sued for Salmonella food poisoning can include growers, food processors, distributors, retailers, restaurants and others. The important thing is that every company responsible for the contamination and resulting Salmonella illnesses be held accountable to the victims and their families.
Families of Salmonella victims often have claims for lost income, lost companionship and other damages. If the Salmonella victim dies, the family may have a Salmonella wrongful death claim.
