Yamaha ATV Recall: Yamaha Rhino Side-by-Side Recall
March 25, 2008 - Yamaha Motor Corporation has announced a Yamaha Rhino ATV recall due to risk of brake failure. The recalled Yamaha Rhino products are Model Year 2008 Yamaha Rhino YXR450 and YXR700 Side-by-Side Vehicles—about 7,800 vehicles.
This Yamaha Rhino ATV recall involves potentally-defective brakes. According to the Yamaha Rhino ATV recall announcement, the brake caliper on the left front wheel could have been made incorrectly, resulting in brake fluid leaking. This can cause a loss of braking and control of the vehicle, posing a serious safety risk to the driver and passenger. Read more about the Yamaha Rhino ATV Recall.
Yamaha ATV Recall: Yamaha Bruin ATVs

November 2, 2005– Yamaha Motor corporation has recalled about 70,000 Yamaha Bruin 250, Bruin 350 4WD and 2WD, Big Bear 400, Kodiak 400, Kodiak 450, and Wolverine 450 ATVs.
The protective boots covering the steering system’s tie-rod ends (universal joints) on the recalled ATVs could be pinched during installation or adjustment, cutting a hole in the rubber. If this occurs, grease could escape, and contaminants such as sand or mud could get into the assembly through the hole, causing accelerated wear. This could result in abnormal steering free play. If the ATV continues to be operated without repair, the ball and socket portion of the tie-rod end could wear to the point that they separate, resulting in loss of steering control, which could cause a vehicle crash with injury or death.
Yamaha has received no reports of incidents or injuries.
