E. coli O157:H7 is dangerous to humans because it produces a shiga toxin, which causes painful and extreme symptoms in people, including abdominal cramping and diarrhea, often bloody.
In severe cases of E. coli poisoning, patients can develop hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) or thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). HUS and TTP are complications of E. coli that cause kidney failure, brain damage, damage to other organs and death.

North Carolina State Fair E. coli
A North Carolina State Fair E. coli investigation is under way by our E. coli lawyers after state and county officials confirmed that seven children and two adults have been sickened by E. coli. Three of the children remain hospitalized, fighting kidney failure and other symptoms of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). McNees Beef Recall in Michigan - Lawsuit
Our law firm is investigating an outbreak of E. coli O157 in Michigan that has been linked to eating ground beef processed and distributed by McNees Meats and Wholesale LLC, a North Branch, Mich., establishment. E. coli in Stawberries Causes Oregon Outbreak
Strawberries from Jaquith Strawberry Farm located in Newberg, Oregon have been associated with an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak in Oregon. Ten people were sickened, and one of them died. Read about a Jaquith Strawberry Farm lawsuit.
J. B. Meats Ground Beef E. coli Recall Lawsuit
Two people have been sickened with E. coli poisoning after consuming ground beef processed by J. B. Meats, a Cincinnati, Ohio establishment. In response to this outbreak, J. Hazelnuts E. coli Lawsuit Attorney
A multi-state outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections has been associated with eating hazelnuts purchased from bulk bins at retail food stores during the holidays. Three cases have been identified in Minnesota, three in Wisconsin, and one in Michigan.
